Farmer Jones, nice fiddling...I think Red-Haired Boy is also called or similar to one called Little Beggar Man, ain't it? I always thought that was hard to play, myself. I have fumbled through it some but seems difficult. Cherokee Shuffle is a fun one. Nice playing, all around with 'em both.
Is that a photo of your fiddle sitting in a bucket of drywall paste?????

Thanks Peggy!
We have a farm store here called Bomgaars. That's a Bomgaars chore pale. I had to look twice. I did have a pickle bucket.

I'll look it up now, maybe a good idea for a new tune :)
Old time player here........I have always played only in standard tuning and could never get some tunes to sound like the recordings that I heard.
Recently I bought a "second fiddle" and tuned it to sawmill; wow!... Happy Hollow ,among other A tunes, now sound like what I have been trying to do, and they are easier to play. Such fun. Thanks to this group for the idea to try something different.
Just a short month. Should be titled "29th of January" a.k.a. "Leap Year" to make it something special.
Of course, there would be a tune called "Leap Year Reel."

Luckily we only have to play that reel only every few years...hahaha...
Hmm...so the news here is, I got invited to play in a short unpaid gig with my flute friend! For a Gaelic association. The bad news is, we will be out of town that week visiting our kids...so I can't participate...but it's also a relief since performing is scary to me anyway! Off the Hook, phew! :-D

No I was missing something.
Should be maybe more focused on work apparently.

I was surprised when I heard Walt Koken en Claire Milliner version; yes it sounds like it .. might have picked something up from watching YT.
Today working on my fidldle version of In de stille kempen .
>28th of January
AKA The 8th of January, commemorating Colonel Jackson's victory over the British on that date (2 weeks after a peace treaty had been signed).
Jimmy Driftwood composed words to the tune. which I can recite from memory because Johnny Horton's version used to get airplay on Top 40 radio well into the '60s and 70s.
JonD - If by "AKA" you mean they're the same tune, that's not so. Here's "28th of January" by the Fuzzy Mountain String Band: youtu.be/7aVj9DsM46U?feature=shared
SO many versions of this tune!, 28th of January.
Walt Kokens
the Bing Brothers
And I love this version
To me the last 2 are where its at for this tune.
