I became interested in fiddle and old time music in college . Being a student I picked up fixer upper fiddles and mandolins at junk shops and learned to fix and play them. I heard a dulcimer player in'76 and learned to build and play them. I bought a house in '82 and all music activity stopped - end of those carefree hippie days. I always said "someday I would get back to playing." Recovering from a knee replacement operation last year, "someday" arrived. This gave me the time to get back into playing music and dulcimer building, finishing up #23 an hourglass and #24 a teardrop model in December .
