Well - played.
Pete McMahan - and some other Missouri fiddlers play a 3rd "High part" out of 4th position. It's on McMahan's "50 Gems" CD.
I've no doubt you could play it if you wanted to. Is it that you just don't typically play 3 part tunes for dances, or is it that you just don't like the high part?

I play that high part but this is a short excerpt from a dance. I don't play it in any regular pattern but just throw it in when I feel like it. Usually if I'm playing for a contra, I just let the high part take the place of the A part. I like that high part.
