Virgil Harrison, now deceased fiddler from Zion IL who I used to Jam with
Henry the Fiddler who inspired me to take up the fiddle after he stood in solo for Mike Seeger whose plane was late at a concert at Northwestern University about 1972
Hank Storer who tried to teach me a few tunes when I first started
Jack Legg, a customer at my auto repair shop and neighbor in Palatine IL who showed up at my door with a gift of my first fiddle since I quit violin in 5th grade 'cause I hated Handel.
Kurt Baumer of Spokane who is just plain great and toured with some country bands
Dewey Balfa who I met at the University of Chicago Folk Festival about 1972
