played classical music in school 4-12 grades, taught myself to play blues and hard rock (yes, on the fiddle..) before being exposed to Western Swing and Old School country, turned FT pro in '78, played every night for 10+ years in country bands, opened huge concerts with Merle Haggard, The Judds, Alabama, George Strait, burned out, semi-retired, played casuals and jams only since '92, recruited into a serious recording/writing band in '07, started opening concerts again, have been given a serious look from Show Dog Records in Nashville (Toby Keith's label), currently still unsigned but not really caring: enjoying playing, jamming, recording more than ever! Playing for love and fun and not for money! (Although I wouldn't turn it down!) Playing with ex-rockers (Pat Traver's touring band for 5 yrs..) who "discovered" country just 3 years ago, and I'm getting a kick out of their enthusiasm and fresh approach to the genre, it's given my musical adventures new wings, and I'm loving life and fiddle playing like never before, what a beautiful instrument, just as in love with it as I was way back in 3rd grade! Keep fiddlin' all you fiddlers out there, and write me if you want...
