I love all kinds of music. I am as comfortable in an orchestra as I am in a country western or bluegrass band. I like Bill Monroe and George Strait.

Bob was the orchestra director at East High and Carey Junior High in Cheyenne, Wyoming, for 42 years.  For 21 years, he also taught orchestra in 5 elementary schools.  Bob enjoyed writing original pieces and arranging music for his students.  His pieces have been published by Young World Publications, Kjos Music, Sheet Music Plus and Sheet Music Direct.  He  has pieces on the, “Editor’s choice list for Pepper Music.  Some of his pieces are on state lists as approved selections for festival. In 2011,  he submitted a piece to the Texas Orchestra Director’s contest and won first place with his piece, “Fortunatis”,  that was written for his, then, three grandchildren.  He was commissioned to write a piece for the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra in 2018.  It was called, “Wyoming, A Tone Poem”.  They are going to perform it again in June 2024. Bob is equally at home playing or directing a symphony orchestra, as he is playing dances with his band.             He has played with the Cheyenne and Casper symphonies.  He plays with the Cheyenne Little Theatre pit orchestra.  He was a member of the Chugwater Philharmonic String Quartet + One for 38 years.  He is the 5 time Wyoming State Fiddle Champion and won fanciest fiddling at the National Old-time Fiddle Contest twice. He plays fiddle and sings in a family band.             Bob still directs a student group called the, Cheyenne Fiddle Orchestra”. They play many styles of music, including old-time fiddle, Celtic, pop and serious works.  He writes and arranges all of their music. They do a lot of community service performances throughout the year, especially for Veteran Groups and Services.  They perform every year for the Cheyenne Frontier Days Parades, and have won outstanding’ Float of the Year”, seven times.
