I grew up in a small village located on Cape Breton Island where I was fortunate to hear and play with many great fiddlers. I have very fond memories of my parents and friends playing tunes into the wee hours of the night, pretty well on a daily basis. I started playing the piano since as far back as I can remember. My playing style emerged from attempting to replicate the fiddle on the piano, because it was the fiddle melodies I was listening to most. It wasn't until grade eleven that I decided I was going to learn to play fiddle no matter what it would take, and it continues to be an enjoyable journey to this day. I wish I could share with the world the joy that hearing and playing these fiddle tunes can bring about.
