I'll be in Kennard, Texas This Saturday for the third annual Millfest at the Old Mill facility there (Lloyd and April Wright's property). Hopefully Steve Hartz and a few others'll be there to show me what I'm doing wrong and give me some pointers for playing better. I've been playing (scraping, killing cats, call it what you will, lol) with the local dulcimer jam group, who've been very understanding and encouraging, and haven't threatened to lynch me yet, so I'm getting lots of practice at sucking in public. Seriiously, I'm having a lot of fun, and the jams and dulcimer sessions give me experience with playing the fiddle with others (I already play quite well and have performed with them and others in public on banjo, Irish flute, and mandolin).
So, I'll be off to Kennard Saturday to skreek and saw and 'kill cats' in a larger public setting. I hope nobody brings a rope...
