Started with clarinet in public school. Then switched to classical guitar. Fell in love with the Bach Chaconne in Segovia's transcription for guitar and began to switch to violin.

It varies. Stephen Grappelli/Django Reinhardt, Bruce Molsky, and so many of the classical players.
