This is a memorial page for our great friend, Jon Steucek, who died suddenly of heart failure in April of 2008. Jon made his mark as a fiddler here in the Hartford CT area, primarily performing as a member of The Portable Folk Festival. Jon was a tasteful laid back fiddler who was a great accompanist as well as a hot soloist. His style was an effective mix of New England and Old Timey/Bluegrass. My hopes are to maintain this site so that former friends can get in touch with memories of Jon which I can forward to his widow (Jan Steucek) and his many friends in the Portables and beyond. Perhaps I can load on some pictures and sound clips so that Jon's memory can be kept alive in the fiddling community. With great respect for a fine friend and musician, Mike Carbonneau (Mickyman)
