My name is Carmel Gunning. I come from a musical family from Geevagh, Co. Sligo, Ireland. I started teaching in 1975 and have produced many top class musicians and singers who are prominent in the world of music today - Liam Kelly of Dervish would be my most well known student. I run Carmel Gunning School of Music (open to students from around the world). on a yearly basis and in summer I host a summer school festival every August. From time to time I teach MA and BA students in Limerick University. I have 5 CDs released to date . I am the leader of newly formed traditional group GROG and at present we are on a tour of Ireland.
