The 10th annual Wallowa Tunes Fiddle Camp will be held at the Wallowa School in Wallowa, Oregon from July 6-11th, 2013, sponsored by the Wallowa Valley Music Alliance (wvmusicalliance.org) It is a week-long, small, inexpensive and family oriented music workshop focused on traditional string instruments. Week-long classes are $125. There is special discount for families of 4 or more. The community is welcome to join us for a public, country family dance on Thursday nights for which some workshop participants provide the music. Classes are held in the elementary wing of the Wallowa School, core classes from 9 AM until noon, and electives in the afternoon, Monday through Friday. There is plenty of time for practice and jam sessions.
Classes still accepting registrations are: Beginning Guitar with Duane Boyer, Intermediate bluegrass rhythm and lead guitar with Matt Bell, DADGAD guitar and beginning claw hammer banjo with Stuart Mason, and claw hammer banjo (intermediate) with Jeanie Murphy. A few fiddle classes still have room, Fiddle and are taking names in case of cancelations.
