Yesterdays lesson marked the 3 month point for me....I had a ernest talk with my instructor Gery about how Im progressing. He says that I am more progressed than any other student hes had at the 3 month level. He says that I have it down.....still skeptical but feeling more confident anyway. The homework he gave me this week was Wayfaring Stranger. He said to fool with it and see what I could do that with this being a familiar tune I might be able to work it out. Well..!! I wasnt really familiar with it, but he sang it for me at the end of our lesson and I recognized it as something my dad had sung before as well as my uncle. I came home about 8pm and started working on it.....I get obsessed about things! HA! When my husband got home at 11 I could play the dang thing! With the exception of vibrato which I saw many musicians doing on the YouTube version of it. Leave it to the king of bluegrass, Mr Bill Monroe! The Johnny Cash rendering is great as well. Guess I know what will be resounding in our house this week!! I got up first thing this moring itching to play ....unfortunatly the DH ( Darling Husband....Damn Husband, depending on my mood!! HEHE!!) is still sleeping and Ill have to wait a bit. Loading up to go to my dads later to make him sing it with me. Best of weekends to everyone!!!!
