Favorite Bands/Musicians:
Oh my -- so many! I was heavily influenced by first-generation bluegrass growing up, so my all-time favorites are Jim & Jesse and the Virginia Boys, Reno & Smiley and the Tennessee Cut-Ups, and Carl Story and His Rambling Mountaineers (with a STRONG preference for those mountaineers to be the Brewster Brothers!).
My favorite fiddlers also fall in this same vane -- they are Jimmy Buchanan, Tater Tate, and Mack Magaha. My favorite violinists are Jascha Heifetz, Mischa Elman, and Fritz Kreisler.
