I turned 50 years old this month, but way before my birthday I decided that I wasn't going to settle for the usual celebration. I was fortunate to have started my fiddle journey under the instruction of Andy Reiner. Andy was the perfect teacher for me and he taught me so much more than how to play the fiddle. I asked Andy to come to my house and play a house concert in honor of my 50th birthday. He came and played all the tunes that I requested and at the beginning of the 2nd set I got to play a tune with Andy and his dad (Dave Reiner). We played Angeline The Baker. It was the most amazing birthday I've ever had! I fully intend to make it to 100 and have Andy come back for an encore!

When the kids were done taking lessons, it was my turn. I've always wanted to play the violin, but didn't have the opportunity until later in life. Now that I discovered fiddle, I can't imagine not playing fiddle tunes and hanging out with other fiddlers.
