Born Salt Lake City, Utah, moved to CA at age 9 months, grew up in Los Angeles area, took some guitar lessons, studied journalism in college, worked newspapers for 38 years, retired in 2001. Married, two children, two grandchildren. Now in a band called Old Dog where I play guitar-tuned plectrum banjo and autoharp. Used to play guitar, but think these add more color to our sound since a band mate is a great guitarist. Also play mandolin, flute, Native American flute, harmonicas, and other stuff, but the fiddle is gradually drawing me further and further in. My wife and I love old-time music.
