I was born in Liaoning province, China. I grew up in Shenyang. Music was not taught in the schools other than patriotic music and marching. I read a book called "It's Never Too Late" by John Holt in 1998 and decided to take cello lessons. Through my music teacher, I found there was a market in the US for musical instruments and bows, so I started a small export company. In 2002, I met my husband Adam. We were married in 2004 and I moved to the US in 2005. I now play cello with a small group in Keene NH. My husband teaches fiddle and mandolin and we have a regular jam session at our house every month with fiddlers from all over Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire. It's a lot of fun.
