My grandfather & father used a violin that I now have and I'd like to get some info on it

Inside the violin is the following:

Model Antonius Stradivarius Cremonenfis

Ficebat Anno No.17

Jackson-Guldan Visl Co.

Columbus, Ohio

 

Is it valuable?  Should I have it repaired?  Should I take it to an antique dealer for an appraisal for insurance purposes?  Can you provide historical info?
