About Pete BowenPete Bowen, the founder of Ridge Meadows Music and Lessons, started playing classical violin at age 5 in Peterborough, Ontario. Between the age of 5 and 15 years, he took the first place awards in over 20 Kiwanis Music Festivals and in 1970, at the age of 15 years, placed 2nd in Canada with a mark of 92%. Pete played with the Canadian Armed Forces Central Band as the lead violinist for 12 years, performing for HRH Queen Elizabeth II, Pope John Paul, 5 President's of the USA, 3 Governors' General and other foreign dignitaries.home about services lessons hiring teachers testimonials linksstudents help pics vidscontact On his discharge from the military, Pete went to the USA and played for many top named Country and Western groups and artists such as The Charlie Daniels Band, Merle Haggard to name only a couple. He returned to Canada and has been a studio musician, stage entertainer, and private music teacher for over 25 years. He welcomes everyone who wants to learn to call him for lessons... Recently, Pete became a member of Cory Risling and Buckshot, where they performed 5 of Cory's original compositions and other cover tunes for the 2010 Canadian Olympics at the Plaza of Nations in Vancouver, BC. As a band, Cory Risling and Buckshot are soon releasing their first CD and perhaps be asked to perform at the CCMA.
