Hey thanks everyone for the advice. I have an Eastman violin and after a few days and a music book and a DVD, I can play a few tunes and am learning the instrument. I have smart sound on the computer along with the book, it seems to help in playing the tunes. I do have lessons lined up in January so it's full steam ahead. I love playing the violin and I think it's going to be agreat adventure. Blessings to you all...Rick
