Favorite Bands/Musicians:
Johnny Gimbel, Jason Roberts, Bobby Hicks, Vassar, Joe Venuti. Stu-bob is the greatest, esp at the gypsy jazz. Listen to some old "Le Hot Club de Nashville" and you will agree.

Playing wherever they throw $ at me: bluegrass, western swing, gypsy jazz, solo strolling love songs in a tux, whatever - just don't ask me to sight-read, I'm NOT a violinist... My main band nowadays is The Rodeo Rhythm Kings, a cowboy band with lots of comedy and non-cowboy tunes, great fun. I also sit in when available with Penny Creek, a bluegrass band who gigs every Wednesday in Palm Bay. Also play fiddle and mando with Acoustic Alliance, where I get to do some swing stuff. For even more swing, we have the Hot Club of Melbourne, who only plays standards and gypsy jazz. I just finished a play called "Always... Patsy Cline" in which I played mostly pedal steel, and got to sing the "ooo waa ooo" stuff like the Jordanaires! If you are local to the Space Coast area, feel free to get in touch by email if you want lessons on any stringed instrument, or want to know the local jam spots, etc. Keep on fiddling, and as I tell my students when they get frustrated, "Remember: it's supposed to be FUN!"
