I joined this group because my family is from Northern Arkansas originally. My Grandfather coached football in Cotter, AR about the time of WWII. I met some of his players who had fought in France. And my Mom was born in Mountain Home and my sister in Fayetteville.

We now live in Minnesota but I'm an Arkansas graduate and love the Ozarks and would like to know what is distinct about Ozark Fiddle. Especially, can you recommend groups to seek out or cds to find?

	Cyndy says: 1/28/2011 12:26:08 PM I have Traditional Fiddle Music of the Ozarks (there are three volumes and I bought them on iTunes) and I think they're great. For me, it was a wonderful introduction to fiddle music. Cyndy
	M-D says: 1/28/2011 5:17:05 PM The CDs for that are available from Rounder Records, as is the 2-CD set of Echoes of the Ozarks. You can also go to my home-page, and look at some of the music there, just for an idea.

U, Fayetteville...we were all raised in Ozark Co. Mo. on Ark. line. Lonnie Robertson was from Ozark Co. Mo., a great old-time fiddler who recorded on Caney Mountain Records ( 6 LP's I believe ). Bro. Luther has all his albums. He was a great example of traditional "Ozark" fiddlin.
