Hi folks, just a quick note to introduce meself. I'm a 60-something who's been playing Old-time, Irish, and Scottish styles for years and finally decided to try old-style jazz. This is my third year of slogging through (happily) Matt Glaser's Grappelli book, Tim Kliphuis' 2 books on playing in the Grappelli style, and also Martin Norgaard's Jazz Violin book. I've played about 4 gigs with bands, and decided I needed to go back and "woodshed" some more. Interestingly ( weell, at least to me) the jazz practice has improved my Irish playing. Slan, Mackeagan
