I started learning violin in grade school then took serious lessons at UMKC under conservatory of music under an excellent teacher but it was all classical. I played good civic orchestras during 70's and 80's. Later I self taught myself on all types of fiddle styles, cajun, irish, scottish, jazz, western swing and about as much as I could observed. I also love Gypsy violin. I more or less want to socialize with other musicans and perhaps have chance to jam on occassion. Nothing big nor in performance just have fun. I have taken more of a laid back approach now to my music.
