Although I've been playing fiddle for over 30 yrs. I just became interested in Irish/Scottish fiddling 2 yrs. ago. Since then I've been to a few "session" and have been devowering Irish, Scott & Shetland tunes from the Fiddler's Fakebook. I'm currently working on a few Jigs: Maggie Brown's Favorite, Kesh and Smash the Windows. I love playing Hornpipes as well. I'm glad to see this group start and happy to be here!

I admire the fact you can work on a few tunes at a time , I would get so distracted , maybe after 30 years who knows, : )

My new fav jigs these days are The White Petticoat, Charlie Hunter and Maids of Glenroe (aka The Maid at the Well). But there's so many great jigs. Ran into the Irish Washerwoman on a recording earlier today and I think it's time I finally actually learn that one. I remember a bit from a vid about Johnny Doherty where he tells someone they can play the fiddle. Had them hold the bow up and then he moved the fiddle against that while playing that tune. Sorry for any off topic-ness :)
	nfritzjr says: 5/16/2011 12:04:41 PM Hey TimK There are many great tunes that are out there. A few of my favorites are the Kerry reel, Cooley's reel, the 3 Kerry Polkas and, Man of the House. I play Bodhran in a "Irish" group but I am now learnin fiddle. Hopefully they will be on my play list soon. Enjoy Slàinte Nick
