Festivals and things. Maybe another tune of the Month?

From tcadien on 10/23/2012 7:33:09 PM

Hey everyone!  hope some of you made it to festival Acadien et Créole.  It was definitely a good one.  One of my favorite performances was Joel Savoy & Linzay Young.  Man they had a good set playing them old tunes.  Didn't get to stay for Sunday because I got sick with the food poisoning.  Got to jam with Ted at the Blue Moon!  Man that Ted can get after it.  I even saw him talk french on stage at the festival.

Tune of the Month Anyone?  What would ya'll like to do for November ?

Festival Acadien was some kinda good, and the Joel/Lindzay set was outstanding. The blue moon was great, I've never really played with an accordion player that much so it was a treat. I'm down for any tunes, perhaps another two step?

Can I get you guys to do a slow version of Dennis McGee's One Step in the key of D? Thanks!

I know it as Dennis McGee's One Step but hopefully its the same song. I'm willing to try it in A if you are. I appreciate your help. Thanks.

Christian, in D you could just play it a string down yes? (Standard tuning) begin on the D string instead of A. Great tune

I found an audio track of the song, One Step Des McGee. This is the song I'm trying to learn.. I found sheet music on the internet for a simple version of this tune.

That was a great version, I play a simple version. One of my favorite versions is by Charivari.

Just search it in YouTube. There are a bunch of versions on there. It will also bring up lots of other Cajun fiddle vids. There are several lesson videos as well under search type in Cajun fiddle lessons
