Tune of the Month

From tcadien on 9/1/2012 1:11:53 PM

thanks everyone for your recent posts of the videos,  they were awesome.  Its time for a new tune of the Month.

Ted has picked the waltz, Chere Joue Roses.  Austin Pitre, and The Balfa Brothers play my favorite versions of this song.  I really like Austin Pitre's though.  Post them videos when you can!!

Isn't austin's tune the same as the Balfa's "valse du bambocheur"? Both great tunes!

Sorry it took so long! I forgot about tune of the month for a while..... Ted, you are right Austin's tune titled Chere Joue Rose is the tune valse de bambocheur, but he also has a tune titled Pretty Rosy Cheeks that is in fact the tune we are attempting to play. I did my version with 1 go of the B part just like Austin.

Excellent, what record is "pretty rosey cheeks" on? I just have his Opelousas Waltz CD I think

Um I think the album I have is a collection of all his recordings with the Evangeline Playboys. I got it from Floyd's in ville platte. It is one of swallow records pioneer series. They also have those pioneer albums for Joe Bonsall, Adam Hebert, and others

I should have mentioned in my previous comment, the French meaning of bambocheur.A person who likes living and having a good time. I have the tune on a cd as "Jolie Joues Rose"
