I was lazing around yesterday morning and this piece came on in the NPR program "1A," which I usually don't pay too much attention to. It was about the Charlie Daniels recording "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," which was just included in the recording registry at the LOC. When they described the fiddle tune titles mentioned in the song something sounded familiar, and sure enough it was very brief quote from our recording of "Fire On the Mountain," made in my backyard in 1972.

Our little part is about midway in, but the whole piece is interesting.
As C. Berry once said "It goes to show you never can tell!"

Fun to listen to. I didn't notice any credit for the tune given to "Lonesome Fiddle Blues" by Vassar Clements. Maybe I missed it.

Fire on the Mtn. and Run Boy Run, could be the title of two seperate tunes.
It may not. I understand Run Boys Run is the second line to Fire on the Mtn.
Not to be confused with the Marshall Tucker song.
