Some sort of tribute . I am experimenting with my hand/wrist technique.
Happy holidays to all who might read.
You look happy and relaxed, and I can hear it in your playing :-) Nice!
There are some rhythmic things…which I think will probably get ironed out by playing with an OT jam…
find other players who like and play the music!
According to the web...
' there is an indeed a OT scene in Belgium, primarily centered around Brussels, with regular jam sessions, square dances, and workshops focusing on American Appalachian fiddle tunes and stringband music. The scene includes regular events like BARMS (Brussels American Roots Music Session)…
BARMS (Brussels American Roots Music Session): A long-running monthly jam in Brussels, often at venues like Winok or Joran in Schaerbeek.
Muziekpublique: Located in Brussels, they offer old-time music lessons (banjo, mandolin, stringband) and organize events like the American Roots Weekend featuring jams, square dances, and workshops.
You can stay updated on upcoming events through the Old-Time in Belgium Facebook group."

This looks fun, and looks like they have a shortage of fiddles… :-)
It looks like it’s in a Vlaams area, but I dunno how far it is from you. I wonder if the ones in Brussels speak French…but maybe they speak English since they probably have a mix of Dutch/French speakers…(and since they are playing American roots music)
OK I’ll shut up now - but I thought you were alone and isolated over there with American OT fiddle, but hey, you’re not!

Well , I've heard about these sessions before, but it's not an option. It kind of stresses me out too, as to imagine myself in the middle of a fiddling crowd in the middle of the busy city of Brussels. It would be a bad idea not to book an hotel room...but that is out of question with Ziva waiting at home.
It's not the safest option either hehe.
I just finished an old tune which I know the flemish lyrics of, but wonder if this is a well known melody: youtu.be/mzckA4mxLyw?is=I9NPggvWIf2zVrXQ
I got less problems with really familiar tunes.

I like the Flemish tune. :-)
Thanks, it was actually very helpful but I wish these people would meet up somewhere else hehe.
I'm having a blast reading the forum this morning lol.
Yea, I avoid sessions at night in certain places! Safety is definitely a thought! Most women who go at night have husbands who play too.
I did find that at the big main sessions, people will get to chatting… and the people who live near eachother will sometimes form little spinoff playing groups.
Glad you’re having a blast this morning!
