I just had some fun last week. I basically hacked my father's old straight Morse key into a computer mouse. Now I can practice Morse code on my laptop. It was a cute little soldering project, and even though it’s probably nothing special to many of you, I was absolutely delighted with it hehe. It works 100%!
But here’s the surprising part: my left hand (!) turned out to be my best keying hand, not my right. This HAS to be because of learning fiddle over the past five years!. And honestly, it’s super convenient too: if I keep using my left hand for keying, my right hand stays free to take notes or use the regular mouse.
And for those who were wondering (and who love amateur radio): I have to admit… you all went a bit gaga a while ago about fiddle, radio, and Morse — and I got completely infected :-D This lady is going QRP soon, with a uSDX and a homebrew end-fed antenna...
FHO… still the greatest fire I’ve ever experienced!
I regularly switch mouse hands to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome. I started doing this while I was working in office, (most rightys can't use a mouse set up for a lefty) as a security thing.
Anjo if you can tap out a paragraph, while using Excel, I will buy you a Dan'l Webster seegar and come and light it for you!

Well at first it looked ridiculous with duct tape round the mouse I sacrificed, but look at it now. Been working on the refining of the project the whole night. Trying to earn that seegar before my time has come hehe.

Your perseverance is truly impressive. It is often said that the better using both hands, the lower risk of developing Alzheimer's disease.
@JeffNicolas, well thank you hehe. I meanwhile know the alphabet at a slow pace 6 to 8 WPM. I can come up with words and sentences anf type the text I want. It keeps me busy and as I thought of: it prevents my thoughts driving all roads at the samr moment, it's like my thinking captured in a system, this brings me rest. I sure hope one day they will find a way to reduce the risk on Alzheimer to an absolute minimum. Learning fiddle and now morse code are good brain activities, that's all I know.
