martyjoe I'm struck by the size of the gap between the hair and stick of your bow ... ! Is that a Baroque bow, perchance?

That is an Incredibow. I have two of them that is a heavy omni model with regular tension. I need the extra weight to power the cello strings on my tenor viola. It also works fine on the regular fiddle. I have a light weight high tension cello model that I prefer on the fiddle but I only bring one bow to the session. (That is my flute and I have a B&C accordion on the floor).

oh yeah. The tenor viola is under my chin in that one too.

Ah yes this is Mullingar. I'm on Guinness, Joe (piper to the right), Guinness, Liam (piper left) Beamish (the other Cork stout), out of view Leona Kelly on the whistle on the Seven Up, two new girls concertina and guitar on zero alcohol beer and Banjo player John Byrne lashing down pints of Guinness. Liam, Leona and John are considered among the best players in the country. It's a huge privilege to sit and play with them every Friday. And of course we get great players dropping in from far and wide!!  Livin the dream!

You lucky dog, you!
( I dunno why our One piper is so loud…)

Great sesh on Saturday over in NC…got visited by all the area good players…I was kinda suspicious that somebody’s house session got cancelled, hahaha…:-). Anyway I think the lyrical lift would have made anybody (even in Ireland) happy! We had: 1 banjo, 1 harp, 4 fiddles, 3 flute/whistle, 1 guitar.

MartyJoe, impressive that you remember what everybody was drinking! My soda opened with a big spilling fizz and the fiddler next to me was going to open hers (same brand) right next to her fiddle…I warned her and saved her fiddle! :-D

Edit to add: Had my new etymotic ear plugs in my purse, but didn't need them this time...
