After a few years of woodshedding I started playing out. A couple of years later I went to fiddle camp (For me that was Old Time week at Augusta.) That's when things changed. I came home and was utterly hopeless for a few weeks while I caught up to what my music bug was demanding. It was an immersion environment. I slept the sleep of the righteous every night and still had to take naps in the afternoon. There are so many fine motor skills involved in bowing alone and learning to relax instead of fight the bow takes a long time, plus remembering to have some fun. As for me, I appear to have gained some momentum.

For what you have described,  "bluegrass and old time, forever. I play rhythm guitar and sing, and have for many years. Fiddle is my favorite instrument " .... this would be hard to beat... Doug mentioned it on another thread...

Solid stuff.
