Ham is still popular world around!! Not needed these days but I still remember my CB license name KAPF3680... Those names were good for about a week, until the FCC realized that it was all out of control.  Anja, do you do Morse code ..ever?

At first I was going to make this comment in another topic called, "Pronouns''.. the latest politically way to describe people.
Well, and this is a TRUE story, I was busking (hence, this topic) ..as usual, and out of the corner of my eye I caught the image of a beautiful young woman in a beautiful knee length dress.. I looked up ..only to see a man with a beard..wearing that dress. Now, that ain't fair..!!! I don't care if you are a man wanting to look like a woman or if you are a woman wanting to look like a man but What pronoun do I use for this guy/gal who is obviously BOTH..?
Funny thing is that I KNOW this person and I did volunteer work with him/her....Ya can't make dis stuff up.

I was learning this as a kid with a casette of our philips videopac + , but did not continue because my dad and my sister were always occupying the box, they were the gamers in the house. However - I don't want to brag -  but I happen to have met the owner of one of this country's finest old school morse stations. The legend here goes that this station is a bit like the fox in the tale, you might think you saw it's tail but when you look back up, the fox is gone already. But  on a cold winter night the fox might be still listening to de daa daa de de daa daa daa de daa.

I had a general class amateur license over here. Barely passed the 13wpm code requirement. I could send OK, but slow at receiving. Anja, if you were to separate your des and daas with slashes I might still know if you're saying anything.

Many years ago I had a ham license. The 13wpm code requirement was tough, but doable with practice.

I understand that code is making something of a comeback, that a few hams use it regularly.

Harry's new shirt looks sharp.

.. hate to tell you Billy, but that is an old video.  Note that in the video Harry has no shoes.. His latest incarnation has 'big boy ' shoes AND  a new shirt and new pants.......We miss  you also.  Maybe in early spring we can plan something..!?

Something  typical happened today as well as two weeks ago from today. Today and two weeks ago I  met new, young volunteers at the center for our local unhoused people. My job was to teach them how to make coffee (25 pots for the first hour of breakfast) and show them how to maintain the breakfast line... In conversation I asked each of them if they had ever seen that guy downtown who plays a fiddle and has a rabbit puppet.. "YES"! was their reply.. They have memory of the guy with the rabbit but were surprised when I said, "Well, I'm that guy."... As usual everyone knows Harry but they need a reminder in order to remember me!!!laugh... Can't wait for a day  over 50 degrees so I can get back out there...!

I love me some hot black coffee. Nothing better on a cold snowy day, like today, and yesterday, and tomorrow, and. . . ..

This is an afterthought to the post about how Harry Hare came to be.. Seems that there was an OLDER version of my busking puppet and I'd forgotten to mention him ..His name was CORN JOHNSON... I'll elaborate later but maybe some of you will recall posts in other topics about CORN about 6 to 8 years ago... I think it is a good story .. I'll elaborate after the Holiday.. Merry Christmas!!!

I have recollection of that name, Corn Johnson. Must have read it here.

The first iteration of a puppet had a paper mache, human like head..It looked so real that people were freaked out by it. THAT puppet was named Corn Johnson, after the fictitious character that someone made up at CLifftop. To this day, locally, whenever someone plays a tune that they don't know where it came from they call it a Corn Johnson tune. When I saw a stuffed rabbit in the local Goodwill I grabbed it.

It was an interesting first time out this year.. $9, but was offered a chicken stick, and a free Tee shirt. Met a man and wife who I'd not seen for about two years... Really, I love money but the social aspects of busking touch my heart..Not to mention, my son found a single gear, adult tricycle and gave it to me for Christmas. I found the flattest route from my home to the busking spot. I'm not too excited about having to ride that thing BUT my poor Old legs really could use the workout. I retrofitted it with a rack to haul Harry Hair and a chair..fiddle over my back. I'm going to ride it for a while and see what happens..

I know a cello player who rides to sesh…helmet on, cello in bright blue case strapped to his back…he looks super cool.

Be safe…some crazy drivers out there.

Another day, another story. When busking yesterday a homeless man gave me a 30 cent tip.. and that turned out to be the only tip of the day. Later I was chatting with a Different homeless man who I had just met.. When we parted ways I gave him my $1 seed money bill as a token of our new friendship... I said, "I'll see you tomorrow morning in the SHalom Breakfast Kitchen where I'll be making coffee." Well today the guy came in ..and told me that he gave the $1 to a 'brother'.......What goes around, comes around.

SO, it finally happened.. This crazy woman came up, kicked Harry Hare, knocked the fiddle out of my hand and insulted me.......OK, it was my wife, but she said she had no idea what came over her..!!laugh  OK, not true, but I hope you find it funny..

I could have made this a banjo joke but I'm trying to be more 'sensitive'...
