This is similar to a British Isles tune by the same name.

Of course this tune ISN"T bluegrass as indicated.. I'm still learning how to do these music posts...It should say "old time".

Gotta good bounce to it. Another original?
I haven't tried to writing anything - not sure I will. Me writing - that's a scary thought.
Nice work.

I learned it from some of the local "irish" musicians. When they heard me play it the said,''Wait, wait. What did you do to our tune!!" Hopefully, I improved it !!

LOL... I'm sure you oldtime-ified it plenty-
and it sounds good that way!!!
Who knows... I might learn it your way, and call it the Skippin' Schottisch! (Americanize the title too!)
I play a version of the OTHER Rose Tree, NOT the one called Waterford.
It is listed in the Fiddler's Fakebook as an Irish tune, a polka, I think. I learned it from a New England recording when I was still pretty new at fiddling.
I've always played it Old Time style though.
But I can sometimes do it the other direction too- I can also hear "Over the Waterfall" as an Irish hornpipe!

Which reminds me that what we call Waynesboro is EXACTLY like "Over the moor to Maggie"... Some tunes go WAY back
