Very lamenting, well done. I like your use of slides, and tone. You have a nice lonesome sound, perfect for this tune. Thanks for sharing, I had never heard this one before.

definitely fair cries that lament! - I was walking down those streets in the lonesome weather - it took me there -
what exactly was the whole dance hall act?

The Dance Hall Act in Ireland (1936) made it illegal for individuals to hold dances in their homes and required that they be held in dance halls. It was passed by pressure from the church- it had a huge impact on music and dancing in the rural communities.

I have had the good fortune to meet the composter - Junior Crehan,
In the Crosses of Annagh- one night - He was a great Auld Guy,,
This is indeed lovely playing - I can play reels an jigs,, A bit -
But can;t bring this tone, or Lovelyness - out of an Air..
