Shifting time meter Funk! The title expresses the composer's distain for contending with monster SUVs being driven on Connecticut Avenue in Washington, DC. This piece has an emphasis on ensemble improvisation -- intended to have an effect of quickly changing music and radio sounds as one can hear in heavy traffic. Demo recorded by Jason Shapiro, soprano saxophone; E. Shawn Qaissaunee, guitar; Brian Howell, bass; Skip Rohrich, drums. NOTE: This piece has improvisation & performance concepts that are not evident in the demo recording. Please follow a copy of the music while listening to the recording. Playing the piece with more funk and edge is encouraged!
