Not sure where I learned it. Heard it a bunch, (Red Fox Chasers, Skillet Lickers, John Patterson, John Morris, ...) then worked it out from memory. Fun tune with a bunch of names, including, Hop Light Ladies, Did you (or "have you") Ever See the Devil Uncle Joe, Uncle Joe, Miss McCloud's Reel. Please excuse the mushiness of the first couple of bars. Something about pushing my own "record" button really throws things off for a moment.

that's great! i find it so interesting how fiddlers play the same tune totally differently in different regions, yet it is still clearly the same tune. my teacher taught me a really irish sounding version of this...that i had to totally adapt so i could play it with other people at our local jam which is mainly canadian old time. and this version is different yet again. thanks for posting :-)

cheekee, I would love to hear your version. I only know it as an old time tune, but I know it has roots in Scotland and is played all over Great Britain.
