An AEAE tune from the Gaspé fiddler, Erskine Morris. Carignan and Allard played in in standard GDAE tuning in the key of Bb. Its from a book tune called the Democratic Rage Hornpipe. Missouri players call it Leddy's Hornpipe. More info at http://gaspefiddle.blogspot.com

Glen,
I've heard and played this tune while at Maine Fiddle Camp. Lucien Mathieu and Don Roy both call it " Fisherman's Reel". It sure sounds like the same tune, I'll have to try it in AEAE. They play it in the key of G.

You are correct. We recently discovered the correct title from a Joseph Allard fiddle recording. Forgot to update it here on the hangout. Our blog has the correction (http://gaspefiddle.blogspot.com)

I play Reel du Pecheur in G- I learned it from a midi file I'd found, and fell in love with it....
but I also play Democratic Rage in Bb- are they really the same tune?
Maybe it's just the different key that makes them sound so different to me!
I'll have to compare them tomorrow- (it's too late to play right now!!!)
