This is the way I remember hearing Kevin Bourke playing it... I am experimenting with recording my fiddle; this is what I did: I recorded through my SWR amp lineout using a Fishman bridge pu. The lineout went to a stereo breakout and then to an InPort USB didgitizer. For some reason the signal level was very low so I used Audacity to amplify it and added some phasing just for kicks. I think the stereo breakout may be the problem with the line level. Audacity was used to produce the mp3 from the wav file. It's not as complicated as it sounds!

Carroll,
Very nice job.
Are you playing this on Dominants - or did you go to steel strings?

Thanks OTJ.
I'm still playing on Dominants, probably about 3-4 years old depending on the string (I break a lot of D's). The "E" string winding is coming off at the nut! Just ordered some Infeld Reds.
But, the wild card is that I went through an amp that has a variety of settings affecting the tone. I think it resulted in more treble than I produce acoustically. Also, I have the input gain up - this tends to pick up bow noises. The pu sits in the bridge "wing" under the E string.
I should probably just buy a mic! - Carroll

Nice Celtic tune. Try Evah Parazzi strings to replace the Dominants. I bought them for my fiddle and my faddle, and I like them a lot.

TIS too complicated...esp. fer us older folk. I bet'cha there'd be more post here if there were a walk-thru posted on the site here helping many of us thru it ( take NOTE Schlange ). Maybe there is but I have'nt came across it. I can do it following my half page of spiral notebook written down instructions.
ANYWAYS...this should be a BLOG I supose.....OH....vg fiddlin, thnx. fer posting.

I think I would have liked it better w/out phasing. It kept bouncing back and forth from right to left and was disconcerting. The fiddle itself sounded good, let it go natural. IMHO

Yeah, you are right about the phasing. I'll post another take one of these days. Just bought a Boss Blues Overdrive effect...
but not for this tune!
