I wish I could say this is me playing the fiddle, but it is my late cousin Aubrey Hall, his son Rex on guitar, his father Roy Hall on spoons, Mark Richard on mandolin, Ben Vogler on bass and me on banjo. This was recorded about the mid 70s.

Nice job on this old tune. I learned it about a year ago. I've heard it used to be a favorite at the Weiser, Id. fiddle contest. Thanks for posting.

Thank you all for the kind comments. The fiddle player Aubrey Hall was my 1st cousin and my inspiration to play bluegrass banjo when I was a child. He was a very humble man who was equally at home on bluegrass banjo and lead guitar. His dad (my great uncle Roy an old time fiddle and banjo player also) located my first banjo which also just happened to be Aubrey’s first banjo. Sadly that was also my great-uncle’s fiddle on the recording which they buried with Aubrey when he passed away. I remember they always kept a set of rattlesnake rattlers inside that old fiddle which also sported a set of geared tuners on the scroll
