My last teacher taught this in D, but the folk here say it more common in A. Here is my version in A. A Shetland tune by Pat Shaw.

Great job, John. You're sounding good! Sorry I haven't gotten back to you on that other tune, but I can't make any sence out of it. It's just TOO crooked for me. Illogical. Does not compute!

Pat Shaw an accordion player, was a leading light in the English Folk Dance and Song Society, he wrote a number of tunes and dances published by them, I guess he may have Irish connections.
I believe Shetlanders usually consider themselves Scandinavian in origin rather than gauls or celts.
