I love this tune. I heard Steve's version on FiddleHangout so I just had to jam along. Downloaded his track to my computer and pasted it into my mixing program. Played along and added my fiddle to the mix. This is the result. I'd love to see folks here on Fiddle Hangout begin to collaborate with one another on these oldtime tunes. I began doing this on another site Kompoz.com, but the music there is more pop oriented. Would be great to have musicians on FiddleHangout swapping and sharing licks together via internet.

I have to apologize for my fiddlin', Steve. I'm just a beginner, but I do love a good oldtime fiddle tune. I think I started out hangin' with you on the timing, but I may have gotten behind you a little on into the tune. Either that or I had some latency issues with the recording. More than likely, it was probably me. Anyway, enjoyed jammin' with you on the tune. Post some more like that. That was fun.
BTW. . . I don't know exactly where you're located geographically, but if you're ever down our way look us up. We have a weekly jam session at the Casey Jones Village here in town. Also, a good festival - maybe a little closer to you each year the first weekend in October at Reelfoot Lake. That's up on the Tennessee/Kentucky border. A great festival. We do the sound and pick a lot for it. Great setting on the banks of Reelfoot Lake. Three days and nights of jammin', lots of crafts, and lots of great food. Sure could use a good picker like yourself.
