The old Charlie Poole favorite, fiddled on the balsa-topped fiddle (pix of it in the photo section) with tenor banjo back-up. No vocals, just music.

You have a really cool style in your recordings. Reminds me of Dylan's "New Morning" album. Did you ever see "The Last Waltz"
(the movie about the Band's last gig in San Francisco.) There's a little scene in there where Rick Danko is playing the fiddle and talking.
Your playing reminds me of that.
I like it.

Wow, thanks. Yep--a copy of 'New Morning' sits on a shelf about two feet away from these typing fingers. Last Waltz and Rick Danko! Dang he just played that fiddle as if worry and care had been banished from existence. Totally free from method or concern, but sounding PERFECT (Rick's fiddling--NOT mine.) "Gimme that ol time religion" for sure. Fiddle stuck in armpit. RIP Rick Danko--a master musician, gone WAY too young. Dang, and Rick's 'It Makes No Difference'. Talk about connecting soul-deep. Not being clever, not 'craft.' You KNOW he'd lost someone dear, to write and sing like that. Not just opening his mouth and making pretty sounds. Have you read Levon Helm's bio/book about the Band? It'll break your heart. Regarding 'style' in recording: I gave up attempting to do anything but just play and clearly-record what I'm playing. 'What you hear is what you get.' No 'concept'. Just having fun.
