Yeah, I don't like the A double stop, G double stop thing, or just two long notes. But if you listen to the Henry Reed recording, he has a variation
that sounds a lot to me like what I do. I'm not sure whether it's a case of "great minds think alike" coincidence or whether I actually heard someone playing it that way.

Wow! That's a sweet tune the way you render it!
I pulled mine of a banjo recording - part b sounds like what I got, but part a is a bit different, but within the same tonality!
