This tune 'just happened' after making some adjustments to the soundpost position on the trapezoidal fiddle and I was idly playing to check-out the tone. The tune sounded nice so I recorded it and then added a banjo part, using my homemade 12"-rim banjo. Is this a pre-existing tune? It KINDA sounds like one variant of ''Fiddler A Dram', but not exactly. So I called it 'A Tune.' (DUH) I'd appreciate anyone providing the actual title, if it's a pre-existing tune. If not, does a title for it suggest itself to any of you guys? No title for it has yet appeared in my noggin. Tho the fiddle probably wasn't pitched to standard A=440 pitch, it was played in GDGD tuning, so this tune could also be fingered as-is in AEAE.

I think it should be called "Jane Paints"

... it even sounds like a tune that should be called "Jane Paints".

How about 'That Gal Drools'? Or maybe 'Scribbling Girl'. Or 'Janey Pants & Wheezes Upon Occasion'.
Somebody said it sounds kinda like 'Sugar In The Gored'. Can sugarcubes heal serious wounds? Can ya substitute Sweet & Low, if desirous of Low-Calorie Healing? Ya learn sumpin' new every day, these days. :)

How about "Give the Fiddler A Drum", since it isn't quite the "Dram" (if ya know what I mean).

No, I don't think so, but natural honey, 'specially Egyptian for some reason,
is a disinfectant! Good for bedsores, among other things.

Hmmm. Fiddlepogo, I like 'Egyptian Honey' as a title for this tune. It's up for serious consideration. Maybe 'Old Egyptian Honey'? "Honey Musk"?
Honey is the only foodstuff which never spoils. Find some from 20 million years ago in a crock down in one a those secret vaults under the pyramids and you can spread it on yer english muffins tomorrow morning.

I like the banjo on this recording ...that sounds great tuned down low like that ... and it's a 4-string to boot ... you are a pioneer in 4-string oldtime music, breaking new ground possibly ... I salute you :-)

I'm liking this very much. Hmmmmm. A name worthy of it though? Okay, okay--"Merrily Kiss the Drooling Gal."
