Sounds good! Where did you learn it? The only "source" fiddler I've heard play this melody / title was Mose Coffman of Greenbrier Co., WV. On the recording I have, he played it in AEAD, only one note different from your tuning.

I heard Mark Gunther play it. I had the tune resurface in my memory and figured out this way to play it. I don't recall if Mark used this tuning or even if I have "correctly" remembered the tune. :-)

Actually, I kind of like playing it in standard tuning, myself, but I'm going to give ADAD a try after hearing yours. Playing tunes if different keys / tunings than the original is fun. This one seems to lend itself to that kind of thing, because how many tunes does anyone play in AEAD? There are other Silver Lake tunes out there, too.

AEAD is known as the Old Sledge tuning around here, and a couple of folks have suggested playing melvin wine's Patty O wil get you out of this tuning as well (bosco, for sure)

i like it strout i did think it wasnt the usual standard tunning you must have droped your first string down to a D or somethin.. its good effect and the G up to A could be wrong...
