Bill Huber fiddled. I played cross-tuned tenor banjo. John Gin played octave mandolin, subtle-like. Dunno where or how Bill learned this tune.

Hey Jane- I may have been there the night Bill Huber learned this tune .... we had the NJ contingent playing at Clifftop ..... a local W.V. fiddler walks up, listens to us play, and when we stopped playing he says " Where y'all from ? " We said " New Joisey " And you should have seen the look on his face ! " Didn't know y'all had fiddlin' up there like this " he says .... then he says...I 'll teach you one that I just learned ....and so he played " Put the Pigs Foot " for us ...we all played it over and over .... Bill was there leading us , Im sure that's where he learned it..
