Janet Switzer, fiddler. Written by Florence Killen of Nova Scotia, this waltz is in Gordon Stobbe's lesson book volume 2. My teacher directed me to learn it with double stops or drones throughout. It's been a challenge, and you can tell I still struggle with it after two weeks of work.

+Hi Janet,

just litened to your waltz. Down the road two weeks later and you still can't get it? I'm just kidding. It's great and I like it a lot. I work on most pieces several weeks. So, don't be so hard on yourself. Keep up the good work.

Nice one Janet!  You're braver then I with all those double stops in there.  Very good for two weeks.

Fantastic!  You are really coming along as a fiddler.  Keep up the good work.  In another couple years you will be comfortable doing those double stops on this and other tunes, and you'll be chewing on yet tougher hides.  (Sometimes my inner Midwesterner comes out and expresses himself.)  It's a great tune, and you did it justice.

Great job Janet.  That is a lovely waltz.  Sounds like your ready to start playing it for dancers.

Oh very well done - all that droning and doubling is an incredible challenge.
