This version of Altamont is from central Ohio - it is often (and probably more originally) played with the A and B parts reversed in other recordings and areas.

Rhys Jones recorded it this way as I recall. It was on his On the Shoulders of Giants tape. It had Steve Rosen , Fred Campeau and myself (with my mandocello debut on Altamont). He got it from the Lusk recording.
Bob Townsend does a D version. Just heard that played at a session in St. Louis on Saturday night.
