Yes indeed, my classical teachers would be ashamed of me, ....I found out I could do it this way...I tried to tell them it would work...they wouldn't be impressed, however.

Doug Kershaw utube of an OLD concert... he played the thing hanging down and nearly off his knees. Not sure WHERE his wrist was.

Right, not classical, but that's ok! I have fudged for how I want to play, and you know.....that's me and how I want to play my sound! Brenda Stubbert and her father play just like your position, and they are the Best in Cape Breton Style, besides Natalie MacMaster and Jerry Holland, and many others. Oh, Jerry plays that way too.
